Byron Bay Triathlon

The Byron Bay Triathlon on Saturday, 11 May 2019 is like no other! This event is one of the most popular triathlons in Australia, with racing commencing at lunch time on a Saturday to allow participants to sleep in, race, and then celebrate in one of the biggest party towns on the East Coast.
Olympic - 1.5km Swim + 40km Bike + 10km Run Sprint - 750m Swim + 20km Bike + 5km Run Tempta - 300m Swim + 10km Bike + 2.5km Run Big Kids (10-12yrs) - 200m Swim + 6km Bike + 1km Run Junior Kids (7-9yrs) - 100m Swim + 3km Bike + 0.5km Run The Olympic (1.5km / 40km / 10km) and Sprint (750m / 20km / 5km) can be run solo, as part of a relay team, or as an all in team where the team time is from the last team member who crosses the line.
The Byron Bay Tri is regarded by many as one of the friendliest triathlons on the coast. Competitors enjoy a 1.5km ocean swim in the crystal clear, tranquil waters of Byron Bay; a 40km cycle past rainforest, coastal bush and the gently rolling farmland of Northern NSW. Then, top it all off with a run along the foreshore, under the picturesque Byron Bay Lighthouse.
Registration is planned to open on Friday evening from 5.00 PM - 7.00 PM at the Byron Surf Club on Bay Street. If you can't make it on Friday evening, you can sign on and rack on the day from 8.00 AM and until 11.00AM. When you arrive at the venue you will need to sign in at the registration area. Line up based on your age group, you will then be asked for your surname and first name. Bike racking is only available on Saturday morning.
